|We must speak up for conservatism; while we still can. |
Along with ridiculous outrage and hatred
The Left-wing media is intent on keeping us quiet. They call us racist if we dare to have different views from what is acceptable to them.
I’ve been a conservative my entire life and I can tell you that most of us don’t want to offend anyone. We believe in freedom and equality and happiness for all honest, hardworking citizens. And yet, we are misrepresented as horrible, hateful people on a daily basis by liberals who know nothing about us.
We fear being demonized for what we believe. We’ve seen it happen to many others. We’ve seen conservative young people have their reputations destroyed in the media for simply having a different opinion from that of the Left. We need to start speaking up. Freedom of speech is what America is about.
Here are just a few of the reasons we must speak up for conservatism:
– to preserve our right to free speech
– to resist socialism and promote freedom
– to set the record straight on what conservatives really believe
– to minimize misunderstandings with liberals who are willing to listen
– to educate and inform other conservatives
– to combat propaganda from the Left
– to affect change in a very Left-leaning culture
To Preserve Our Right to Free Speech
First, we must speak up for conservatism in order to preserve our right to free speech. If people only hear what liberals are saying and their propaganda is presented as fact, mass misinformation becomes the standard by which people live their lives.
How many people use CNN, the New York Times, ABC News, and Buzzfeed as their trusted primary news sources? I used to think all the feuding between CNN and FOX News was kind of silly, u til I realized just how biased CNN truly is. And considering the fact that almost all journalism today is left-leaning, we really need to be careful where we get our news.
Eventually, misinformation shapes an entire culture. The longer we blindly go along with the lies of the Left, the more distorted history will be. We can get mad (which is what I did, at first), but it’s much more effective to take action. By speaking up about our values as conservatives and presenting compelling arguments based on history and philosophy, we can help give others another insight by which they can decide for themselves.
Allowing your freedom of speech to be silenced doesn’t seem like a big deal now, but it’s a slow boil. Right now, many of us are silent because we don’t want to inadvertently offend anyone. But if we keep it up, the freedom we have to our views and thoughts will be gone.
To Resist Socialism and Promote Freedom
“Resist” should be our slogan, not theirs. We should be doing everything in our power to resist the propaganda of the Left. We will not be silenced. We will not allow them to make us into monsters. We will not be misrepresented. We will make ourselves heard.
We have enjoyed the freedom of self – expression for many years in this country. I daresay we enjoy more personal freedom as citizens of the United States in 2019 than in any other time or place in history. We are freer than ever before. But that freedom we’ve enjoyed might be dwindling. We are seeing a surge of individuals in politics who seek to take our freedom away, who embrace socialism wholeheartedly, and who want to destroy the foundation upon which America was built.
The inequality of race and gender that plagued our country for centuries, though abolished here in the U.S., flourishes in other countries around the world. America has progressed far beyond the rest of the world in creating a society of freedom and personal choice. But the elite Left seeks to recreate our America using the oppressive, socialist and lawless countries of the world as models. These are countries in which women and children are oppressed and slavery is common practice.
It’s possible that freedom isn’t valued by the younger generation because they don’t know what it’s like to live without it. I don’t think they should have to experience slavery to find out why freedom is so precious. Do you?
To Set the Record Straight on What Conservatives Believe
What conservatives believe is completely misunderstood by liberals. They think we hate homosexuals. They think we want to enslave people and keep women in oppression. The opposite is true.
I think all the finger-pointing they do toward conservatives is simply a cover for their real agenda: their plan is to demonize the conservatives, get people mad, and then steal the American people’s freedom while they’re out protesting in the streets for the freedoms and equalities they already possess. It’s insidious, but it’s actually actually kind of brilliant. They don’t expect the people to break away and think for themselves. Why don’t we prove them wrong?
The elite liberals want socialism to take over this country. Why? Because then they have all the power. The Left’s model of America is not the America I want for my children. We’ve grown up enjoying American freedoms. We’ve had the opportunity to choose our schools, our careers, and our doctors. But if we allow the Left to silence us, our freedoms will be taken away and replaced by socialism. They begin by silencing us in the name of tolerance and sensitivity. When we speak up for conservatism, our words and values often get twisted by the Left into anthems of bigotry and racism. We grow up under the fear of being labeled as hateful, so we decline to speak about our beliefs.
We want to talk about society’s problems and find solutions, but we are afraid of being called names by those who disagree. And if we have ideas on how to change things for the better, our solutions don’t get considered. Our arguments against socialism and for freedom are discounted long before we are able to express them.
This is how groupthink begins. It begins with the mass shaming of those whose views you oppose. This is what the radical Left is doing to the American people.
The seed of socialism has begun to sprout in the soil of this nation, a nation our forefathers fled to so they could escape persecution for their religious beliefs. It was the last frontier. Socialism was never part of the American agenda. But now it’s happening. Right here, in our “Land of the Free.” This is not the America our parents were born into. As the Left’s ideology and powerful media presence continue to misrepresent everything this country was built upon, as history itself is rewritten to fit their agenda, we have to speak up for conservatism to set the record straight.
To Minimize Misunderstandings with Liberals Willing to Listen
Do you think it isn’t worth it? Do you fear the country is already lost? Well, if you’re not willing to do it for yourself, then do it for our children and grandchildren. What kind of country do we want to leave for the next generation?
When we speak the truth about conservative values, we know that many won’t listen. Many liberals are so outraged by our disagreeing with them that they decline to even acknowledge our media presence. But I want to believe that a handful of them will keep an open mind if we gracefully and eloquently speak up for conservatism. By speaking up, we can begin to minimize the misunderstandings conservatism faces in current culture.
To Educate and Inform Other Conservatives
It’s through discourse that we learn the most important lessons. I began this blog so that we conservatives could gather and discuss ideas and topics that will help to represent conservatism in its true form, unadulterated by the Leftist media agenda. We, as individual people, can’t possibly know everything.
But if we are talking about these very important issues in our time, we will become stronger in our knowledge together. That’s why discourse between conservatives is important. We have to defend and speak up for conservatism even among each other. By keeping aware and constantly learning, we can educate and inform each other, filling the knowledge gaps within our groups. Without a solid and unified front, it’s easy to let the lies from the Left seep in, causing distraction and confusion.
To Combat Propaganda from the Left
I still believe there is hope for this country. But change will only come through real, honest conversations with people from all races, backgrounds, and mindsets. No one can deny there are problems in our culture, just like there are problems in the world as a whole. And as long as we keep silent about our problems and possible solutions, we will never work to fix them. Many of the world’s problems have answers in conservatism. When we speak up for conservatism, we can begin to uncover some of those answers and work to make this world a better place.
The propaganda from from the Left does nothing but poison our hearts and minds against each other. The Leftist agenda is not one of togetherness, but of division. Here, I advocate an honest and open dialogue between each and every one of us. Let’s be human.
To Affect Change in a Very Left-leaning Culture
Freedom of speech is one of the keys to fixing humanity’s problems. Without it, we might as well be slaves of communism. I’m not sure if it’s a lack of knowledge or an over-idealism that makes socialism and communism appealing to millennials. but there’s no denying that we live in a very left-leaning culture.
We must speak up for conservatism if we want to affect the culture for the better. Socialism isn’t about freedom. It’s about control and slavery to the state. We want to keep slavery illegal and a thing of the past. If we want a choice in our careers, we must speak up. If we want the freedom to choose our doctors, our grocery stores, and our insurance policies, we have to act.
Our left-leaning culture wants to give us choices in everything that doesn’t matter (which bathroom to use, for example) and to take away our choices in everything that does matter (whether we want to own guns or travel by plane).
We must speak up for conservatism because it is being viciously silenced by the media and the elite Left. If we don’t begin to make ourselves heard, we will lose our right to speak.
